The PGA Tour's Yearly Win Leaders

Tiger Woods has more years leading the PGA Tour in wins than anyone else

Which golfers have led the PGA Tour in wins each year? Below is the list of yearly victory leaders on the PGA Tour, going back to the founding of the PGA in 1916. You'll see lots of big names, of course, but probably also a few names that surprise you.

But before getting to the list, let's list a couple of superlatives. First, which golfers have led the PGA Tour in wins most often? These golfers:

  • Tiger Woods — 12 different years leading the tour in wins
  • Jack Nicklaus — 6 years
  • Tom Watson — 6 years
  • Ben Hogan — 5 years
  • Arnold Palmer — 5 years
Next, what is the most consecutive years the same golfer has led the PGA Tour in wins? The answer to that is five years, and the record-holder is Tiger Woods, who did it twice: He led every year from 2005-09, and, previously, every year from 1999-2003. Watson and Palmer both had streaks of four consecutive years leading the PGA Tour in wins. Surprisingly, Jack Nicklaus never led more than two years in a row.

Now, on to the list.
