LPGA Cosmopolitan Open Golf Tournament

The Cosmopolitan Open was a golf tournament on the LPGA Tour played in Illinois from the late 1950s to the mid-1960s.

First played: 1958

Last played: 1965

The tournament scoring record was 208, set by Betsy Rawls in 1960. Rawls was one of two golfers to win the tournament twice; the other was Sandra Haynie.

Rawls' second win in 1961 was by one stroke over Barbara Romack, who was once on a plane hijacked to Cuba. The tournaments were always close — two strokes was the largest margin of victory.

Also known as: Other names used during the tournament's run were Cosmopolitan Women's Open and Macktown Open.
