Notes: After losing 13 consecutive Curtis Cups from 1960 through 1984, Team GB&I won its second in a row this year. After claiming the 1986 Curtis Cup by a 13-5 score, winning in 1988 by 11-7 marked the first time GB&I won the Curtis Cup back-to-back.

GB&I won the opening foursomes session by a 2.5 to 0.5 score and Team USA was never able to mount a challenge after that. Vicki Thomas went 3-0-1 and Susan Shapcott 3-1-0 to lead GB&I.
