1998 Curtis Cup Winner and Match Scores

The 1998 Curtis Cup was the 30th time this tournament was played. Following Team USA's victory, the all-time standings were 21 wins for Team USA, six for GB&I, and three ties.

Notes: Team USA won the first three playing sessions, each by one point, so that when Team GB&I won the final singles session by one point it wasn't enough to overcome the Americans' lead. GB&I had held the Cup three consecutive times coming in, so the USA ended its own three-match winless streak.

Kellee Booth lead Team USA with a perfect 4-0-0 record. Booth's mother, Jane Bastanchury Booth, played in three Curtis Cups in the 1970s, making them the first mother-daughter pair to both play in this tournament. Booth's foursomes partner in both her doubles matches was Brenda Corrie Kuehn, who also went 4-0-0. Kuehn's daughter, Rachel Kuehn, played in the 2021 Curtis Cup, making them the second mother-daughter pair to play in the Curtis Cup.

Carol Semple Thompson played for Team USA for the 10th time, becoming the first (and only) golfer to make 10 or more playing appearances in the Curtis Cup. She went on to play twice more, and also captained Team USA twice.

While Team USA ended a three-match winless streak here, it also began a 7-Cup winning streak that last through the 2010 Curtis Cup. Team GB&I did not win again until the 2012 Curtis Cup.
