2021 Curtis Cup: Dates, Location, Teams
The 2021 Curtis Cup was originally scheduled to be played in 2020. However, it was postponed by one year due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. The 2021 Curtis Cup will be the 41st time this competition between teams of amateur women golfers representing Great Britain & Ireland (GB&I) and the United States (USA) is played. The current standings over the event's history are 29 wins for Team USA, eight wins for GB&I, with three ties.
Dates Played: August 26-28, 2021 (the originally planned dates were June 12-14, 2020)
Location: Conwy Golf Club in Conwy, Wales
Since Team USA won the 2018 Curtis Cup and is the holder the Cup entering the tournament, its needs to win 10 points to hold the Cup. Team GB&I must earn 10.5 points to win back the Cup.
Team Composition
Both sides are comprised of eight golfers. For Team GB&I, two of those are automatic selections: The two highest-ranked GB&I golfers in the World Amateur Golf Ranking as of a predertimed cutoff date make the team. The remaining six players are selected by the R&A Women's Selection Committee. For Team USA, all eight golfers are selected by the USGA's International Team Selection Committee.
The 2021 Curtis Cup Captains
Elaine Ratcliffe is the captain for Team GB&I and Sarah LeBrun Ingram for Team USA.Both are past players for their sides in the Curtis Cup. Ratcliffe played in the 1996 and 1998 Curtis Cups, going 1-1 in singles matches and 2-0-2 in foursomes matches. Ingram played in the 1992, 1994 and 1996 matches, going 0-3-1 in foursomes and 2-1 in singles.
The two captains faced off against one another in a singles match during the 1996 Curtis Cup, Ratcliffe beating Ingram by a 3-and-1 score.

The three days of match play break down like this:- Friday, Aug. 26: Three morning foursomes matches, three afternoon fourball matches
- Saturday, Aug. 27: Three morning foursomes matches, three afternoon fourball matches
- Sunday, Aug. 28: Eight singles matches
