1992 Curtis Cup Winner and Match Scores

The 1992 Curtis Cup was the 27th time this tournament was played. Following Team GB&I's victory, the all-time standings were 20 wins for Team USA, five for GB&I, and two ties.

Notes: The closely contested 1992 Curtis Cup came down to the last match with the outcome on the line. Team GB&I led throughout after taking the opening foursomes session. But on Day 2, Team USA closed a 3-point gap after Day 1 to two points entering the final singles sessions.

GB&I's Joanne Morley and Catriona Lambert (soon to be better-known as Catriona Matthew) led off Day 2 singles with victories, giving GB&I nine points and requiring only a half-point more for the win.

But the USA rallied and won the next three singles. So it came down to the final match, Caroline Hall vs. Vicki Goetze, both future pro tour players. In the end, it was Hall who won it on the final green, taking the match and claiming the trophy for GB&I.

Vicki Thomas made the last of her six playing appearances for GB&I. At the time, her seven match wins were second-most in GB&I history.

(The two golfers named Hall for Team GB&I — Caroline Hall and Julie Hall — were not related.)
