Dates Played: September 28-29, 1935

Golf Course: Ridgewood Country Club in Ridgewood, New Jersey

Team Captains: Great Britain — Charles Whitcombe; USA — Walter Hagen

Team Rosters

Match Notes: This Ryder Cup had both a pair of golfers named Alf, plus a set of three brothers. The Whitcombes included player-captain Charles plus teammates Ernest and Reg. The Alfs (Perry and Padgham) were winless for Great Britain, but the Whitcombes did earn two wins between them.

For the fifth consecutive time, Walter Hagen was the Team USA captain. He paired with Gene Sarazen for a 7-and-6 win in foursomes (which were scheduled for 36 holes). Sarazen also won a singles match. Hagen captained once more, but this was his final appearance in the Ryder Cup as a player.

Only 12 points were at stake this year, with four foursomes matches on Day 1 and eight singles matches on Day 2.
