2021 Solheim Cup: When, Where, Dates, Qualifying
Dates: September 4-6, 2021. That is a Saturday-Monday schedule, with the tournament ending on Labor Day Monday.
Location: Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. This golf course has previously hosted four U.S. Opens (1920, 1931, 1957, 1979), two PGA Championships (1986, 1993) and two U.S. Senior Opens (2003, 2011).

The 2021 Solheim Cup Captains
The captain for the United States (appointed by the LPGA) is Pat Hurst. Hurst has served several stints as an assistant captain in the competition, but this will her first time as the team captain.The captain for Europe (appointed by the Ladies European Tour) is Catriona Matthew, reprising her role from the 2019 Solheim Cup. In 2019, Europe defeated the U.S. by a 14.5 to 13.5 score. Matthew will be attempting to become the first European captain to win more than one Solheim Cup.
Matthews' vice captains will be the same from 2019: Laura Davies, Kathryn Imrie and Suzann Pettersen.
How the Teams Are Picked for 2021 Solheim Cup
Team composition for the European side is this: the top three eligible players on the LET Solheim Cup points list; the top five eligible players from the Rolex Women’s World Rankings; four captain's picks.For Team USA, the team selection is: the top eight golfers from the LPGA Solheim Cup points list; the top two players from the Rolex Women's World Rankings; plus two captain's picks.
Competition Format
See The Solheim Cup Format Explained for full details, but the basic format is this:- Day 1: One session of four foursomes matches, and another session of four fourball matches, 8 points total at stake.
- Day 2: One session of four foursomes matches, and another session of four fourball matches, 8 points total at stake.
- Day 3: 12 singles (one vs. one) matches, 12 points at stake.
