2006 Women's World Golf Rankings: No. 1, Top 50 at End of Year

Which golfer finished the year 2006 at No. 1 in the women's world golf rankings? The same one who began the year at No. 1 in the first-ever official women's world rankings.

The women's world golf rankings debuted in February of 2006, named the Rolex Rankings, and with Annika Sorenstam at No. 1. Sorenstam finished year the No. 1 on the strength of a 2006 LPGA Tour campaign in which she won three times, including the U.S. Women's Open. Her other LPGA wins were in the MasterCard Classic and State Farm Classic. Also in 2006, Sorenstam won the Scandinavian TPC and Dubai Ladies Masters on the Ladies European Tour and, partnering with Liselotte Neumann, the Women's World Cup of Golf team tournament.
