LPGA Swinging Skirts Taiwan Championship

The LPGA Taiwan Championship was a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour and the first-ever LPGA tournament played in Taiwan. The term "Swinging Skirts" was part of the tournament's name for the second half of its run.

First played: 2011

Last played: 2019

The tournament was originally named the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship, then Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship. In 2017 it became the Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship, and finally ended up as the Taiwan Swinging Skirts LPGA. (Swinging Skirts was the name of a women's golf booster organization in Taiwan.)

This tournament was on the LPGA Tour schedule in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, but was canceled in each one of those years for reasons relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Winners of the Swinging Skirts Taiwan Championship

2011 — Yani Tseng, 272
2012 — Suzann Pettersen, 269
2013 — Suzann Pettersen, 279
2014 — Inbee Park, 266
2015 — Lydia Ko, 268

2017 — Eun-Hee Ji, 271
2018 — Nelly Korda, 275
2019 — Nelly Korda, 270 (def. Minjee Lee, Caroline Masson in playoff)

The tournament's very first winner was Taiwan's own Yani Tseng, who won by five strokes that year. (The event's margin of victory record was nine strokes, set by Lydia Ko in 2015.)

The Swinging Skirts Taiwan LPGA had two two-time champs, both of them winning back-to-back: Suzann Pettersen and, in the final two years, Nelly Korda. Korda's victory in 2018 was her very first on the LPGA Tour. Pettersen's win in 2013 was her second-to-last on the LPGA Tour.

The tournament scoring record for 72 holes was 266, set by Inbee Park in 2014. The 18-hole scoring record of 62 was recorded four times: Park and Mirim Lee in 2014, Jodi Ewart and Ha-Na Jang in 2016.

When Ko won in 2015, it was her 10th LPGA victory. At age 18 years, 6 months and 1 day old, Ko became the youngest player in history to reach 10 career wins on the LPGA Tour.
