2025 U.S. Women's Open Winner and Scores

The 2025 U.S. Women's Open was the 80th time this tournament was played. The champion was a first-time major winner and the third golfer from Sweden to claim this trophy.

Winner: Maja Stark, 281

Where it was played: Erin Hills in Erin Hills, Wisconsin

Tournament dates: May 29-June 1, 2025

Leaders after first round: Rio Takeda, Yealimi Noh, Jinhee Im, A Lim Kim, Angel Yin, Julia Lopez Ramirez, 68

Leader after second round: Mao Saigo, 136

Leader after third round: Maja Stark, 209

Notes: Maja Stark became the third golfer from Sweden to win this major, claiming the 2025 U.S. Women's Open by two strokes over runners-up Nelly Korda and Rio Takeda. Liselotte Neumann and Annika Sorenstam were previous winners from Sweden.

Stark led by one entering the final round, and played steady golf for most of the round. Korda appeared to be making a move late on the front nine with birdies on the seventh and eighth holes. But Korda bogeyed No. 13, while Stark recovered from a bogey on the seventh with birdies on Holes 11 and 14. And bogeys on Nos. 17 and 18 didn't hurt Stark because her lead was four after the 16th hole.

Stark's previous best finish in a major was second (to Korda) in the 2024 Chevron Championship. This was Stark's second career win on the LPGA Tour. Her previous LPGA victory was in a co-sanctioned tournament in Australia in 2022, and that is how she earned her tour membership. She also had six wins on the Ladies European Tour prior to winning the U.S. Women's Open, and had played for Team Europe in two Solheim Cups.
