Notes: Team USA won the opening foursomes session, but Team GB&I won both singles sessions to claim its fourth-ever Walker Cup win. GB&I won the Day 1 singles by a 5.5 to 2.5 score, and the Day 2 singles by a 5-3 score. In the Day 2 session, GB&I won the first four singles games played to clinch the win.

Gary Wolstenholme made the first of six consecutive playing appearances for GB&I. Following his last at the 2005 Walker Cup, he held the GB&I records for most match wins in the Walker Cup with 10, and most points earned with 10.5.

Tiger Woods went 2-2 in his only Walker Cup appearance. He faced Wolstenholme in two singles matches, and they split: Wolstenholme won on Day 1, 1-up; Woods got the win on Day 2, 4-and-3.

For USA, Trip Kuehne made the first of three playing appearances. When his sister Kelli Kuehne played in the 1996 Curtis Cup, they became the third brother-sister pair to complete the Walker/Curtis Cup double.
