The U.S. Women's Open is the biggest tournament in women's golf and on the LPGA Tour every year. Which golfers have gone low? Let's take a look at the U.S. Women's Open scoring records for 72 holes, 18 holes and nine holes, plus lowest total scores in relation to par.

Lowest Score, 72 Holes

The first golfer to win with the current record total of 272 was Annika Sorenstam in 1996. Two other golfers have since tied that mark, most recently in 2015. Here is the list of U.S. Women's Open 72-hole scoring bests:

Most Strokes Under Par, 72 Holes

When Juli Inkster tied Sorenstam's 72-hole stroke total in winning the 1999 USWO, she also smashed the tournament's record for lowest under-par score. Inkster lowered the previous record by six strokes.

In U.S. Women's Open history, there have been only six rounds under 65 and just one below 64. This record has stood unmatched since 1994.

Many golfers have now carded a 65 in the USWO, but the first to do it was Sally Little in 1978.

In USWO history, only one golfer has played a front nine or back nine in fewer than 30 strokes.
