2029 Ryder Cup: Dates, Golf Course, Schedule
The 2029 Ryder Cup will be the 47th time this competition is played. The Ryder Cup is an every-other-year match-play spectacle contested by two teams of male professional golfers, Team Europe and Team United States.
2029 Ryder Cup dates: TBA, but Ryder Cups are typically played in the range of mid-September to early October. A late-September date is most likely.

Captains and Team Selection
The Team USA and Team Europe captains will be announced after the completion of the 2027 Ryder Cup, likely in early 2028. The PGA of America selects the Team USA captain, the European Tour chooses the Team Europe captain.The two teams will each consist of 12 golfers. About half those golfers will earn spots automatically through the two sides' respective points lists (points earned through tournament play over the two years leading up to the Ryder Cup). The other half of each squad will be selected by the team captains.
The 2029 Ryder Cup Golf Course: Hazeltine National
Every Ryder Cup played in the United States has been played at a different golf course ... until now. Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota, will be the first course to host a second Ryder Cup in America (multiple venues have hosted more than once in Europe). Hazeltine was previously the site of the 2016 Ryder Cup, which Team USA won by a 17 to 11 final score.Hazeltine opened in 1962 and just four years later was the site of its first major, the 1966 U.S. Women's Open. Other majors played there include the U.S. Open in 1970 and 1991, the PGA Championship in 2002 and 2009, the 1977 U.S. Women's Open, the Women's PGA Championship in 2019 and the U.S. Senior Open in 1983. The U.S. Amateur and U.S. Mid-Amateur championships have also taken place at Hazeltine. Watch the video at the top of the page for a tour of several of Hazeltine's best holes.
2029 Ryder Cup Schedule
The Ryder Cup is played over three days, using foursomes (alternate shot), fourball (better ball) and singles formats. Following opening ceremonies on Thursday evening, match play is contested on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We don't know the specific dates yet, but barring any rain delays, the match schedule will look like this:- Friday: 4 foursome matches and 4 fourball matches
- Saturday: 4 foursome matches and 4 fourball matches
- Sunday: 12 singles matches
