2027 Ryder Cup: Dates, Golf Course, Schedule

The 2027 Ryder Cup will be the 46th time this biennial event is played, and the 100th anniversary of the 1927 Ryder Cup that inaugurated this competition. The Ryder Cup is contested by two teams of male professional golfers, one team representing Europe, the other representing the United States. The all-time standings are 27 wins for Team USA, 16 wins for Team Europe, with two ties.

2027 Ryder Cup dates: September 17-19, 2027
Golf course: The Golf Course at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland
Team captains: TBA
Defending champion: Team Europe won the 2025 Ryder Cup by a 15-13 score.
Tickets: Ticket information will become available in 2026. In the meantime, those interested in attending can register that interest on this page of the official Ryder Cup website.

Captains and Team Selection

The Team USA and Team Europe captains will be announced after the completion of the 2025 Ryder Cup, likely in early 2026.

The two teams will each consist of 12 golfers. About half those golfers will earn spots automatically through the two sides' respective points lists (points earned through tournament play over the two years leading up to the Ryder Cup). The other half of each squad will be selected by the team captains.

The 2027 Ryder Cup Golf Course: Adare Manor

Adare Manor is an Irish resort, and The Golf Course at Adare Manor was added to the resort in 1995. The original designer was Robert Trent Jones Sr., with Tom Fazio leading a redesign in 2015. It's a parkland course with rolling terrain and mature trees, located along the banks of the River Maigue.

This will be the second time the Ryder Cup has been played in the Republic of Ireland (the 2006 Ryder Cup was at The K Club). The Irish Open was played at Adare Manor in 2007 and 2008. The J.P. McManus Pro-Am took place there in 2005, 2010 and 2022.

2027 Ryder Cup Schedule

The Ryder Cup is played over three days, using foursomes, fourball and singles formats. In modern times, it is always played over a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Barring any rain delays, then, the match schedule will look like this:
  • Thursday, Sept. 16: Opening ceremonies
  • Friday, Sept. 17: 4 foursome matches and 4 fourball matches
  • Saturday, Sept. 18: 4 foursome matches and 4 fourball matches
  • Sunday, Sept. 19: 12 singles matches, closing ceremonies
There are 28 points total at stake; a team must win 14.5 points to win the Ryder Cup. However, the team that holds the Cup entering the tournament can retain the Cup by winning only 14 points.
