2021 Curtis Cup Winner and Match Scores

This edition of the Curtis Cup was originally scheduled to be played in 2020. However, it was postponed by one year due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. The 2021 Curtis Cup was the 41st time this competition between teams of amateur women golfers representing Great Britain & Ireland (GB&I) and the United States (USA) was played. Following Team USA's victory, the all-time standings were 30 wins for the United States, eight wins for Team GB&I, with three ties.

Final Score: United States 12.5, Great Britain & Ireland 7.5

Dates Played: August 26-28, 2021 (the originally planned dates were June 12-14, 2020)

Location: Conwy Golf Club in Conwy, Wales

Team Captains: Sarah LeBrun Ingram for Team USA, Elaine Ratcliffe for Team GB&I

Team Rosters:

  • United States — Rose Zhang, Rachel Heck, Allisen Corpuz, Jensen Castle, Gina Kim, Rachel Kuehn, Brooke Matthews, Emilia Migliaccio
  • Great Britain & Ireland — Hannah Darling, Louise Duncan, Annabell Fuller, Charlotte Heath, Caley McGinty, Emily Toy, Lauren Walsh, Annabel Wilson
Notes: Great Britain & Ireland got off to a hot start at the 2021 Curtis Cup, but in the end the United States roared back to claim the five-point victory. Team GB&I jumped out to a 4.5 to 1.5 lead after Day 1, losing only one out of six matches that first day. But Team USA turned it around on Day 2, at the end of which the sides were tied, 6-6.

The first singles match on Day 3 was halved, but after that it was almost all Team USA. The Americans won six of the eight singles matches, halved one, and lost only one.

One of the stars for the American side was Rachel Kuehn, who went 4-0-0 and earned the clinching point in her singles match — just under 25 years after her mother had done the same thing. In the 1998 Curtis Cup, Brenda Corrie Kuehn went 4-0-0 for Team USA. The Kuehns became just the second mother-daughter pair to both play in the Curtis Cup.

Rose Zhang, ranked No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for nearly two years, went 4-0-1 for the American side.
