Future Masters Golf Tournament Dates

The Masters Tournament takes place annually in April. But when, specifically, are future Masters Tournaments scheduled? Let's see what the dates are for upcoming Masters golf tournaments.

The following list includes only the dates of the tournament's four rounds of play, not the location. We don't need to include the golf course in the list because The Masters is the only one of the four major championships of men's professional golf that is played at the same golf course every year. That golf course is Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.

Masters Tournament Future Dates

  • 2024 Masters: Thursday, April 11, through Sunday, April 14
  • 2025 Masters: Thursday, April 10, through Sunday, April 13
  • 2026 Masters: Thursday, April 9, through Sunday, April 12
  • 2027 Masters: Thursday, April 8, through Sunday, April 11
  • 2028 Masters: Thursday, April 6, through Sunday, April 9
These dates are for the four rounds of tournament play, always scheduled Thursday-Sunday. But The Masters' "tournament week" officially begins on Monday, three days before the first round tees off. Spectators (with tickets) are welcomed to Augusta National on the Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays of tournament weeks to watch the golfers practice.

Since 1948, its final round has been scheduled for the second Sunday of April. (Four times since 1948 the tournament ended on the first Sunday of April, and twice on the third Sunday, but none of those occurred later than 1984).

Of course, weather delays can push the tournament's finish to a Monday, which has happened multiple times through the tournament's history. The Masters has also taken place outside of April a few times. The 1934 Masters, the very first one, took place in late March. The 1939 Masters began on March 31. And the 2020 Masters, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was played in November.

If you hope to attend a future Masters Tournament, you'll need to start planning early. Masters tournament-day tickets are notoriously difficult and expensive to get, unless you are one of the very few lucky winners of the Masters ticket lottery. Practice-day tickets are easier to acquire, but still scarce and expensive. And tournament week accommodations in Augusta, Georgia, are booked far in advance and are also very expensive.
