The Women's PGA Championship cut rule is this:
- There is a cut following the second round (36 holes) of play.
- The Top 70 golfers plus ties for 70th place after Round 2 continue playing in the third and fourth rounds; those lower than 70th place after 36 holes are cut from the field.
The Women's PGA Championship is one of the major championships of women's professional golf, and is part of the LPGA Tour schedule. It is run by the PGA of America, which took over (and changed the name of) the major formerly known as the LPGA Championship.
With a starting field of 156, cutting to the Top 70 plus ties reduces the field by roughly half for the final two rounds. If eight golfers are tied for 70th place, then 78 (exactly half of the starting field) make the cut. But the number is typically slightly less than half of the field making the cut.
