18-Hole Scoring Record in Women's Major Championships
The lowest, 18-hole score yet recorded in one of the major championships of women's professional golf is 60, and only golfer so far has gone that low.
The record-holder is Haeran Ryu, who scored 60 in the third round of the 2026 Evian Championship. (As a reminder, the five LPGA majors are the U.S. Women's Open, Women's British Open, Women's PGA Championship, Chevron Champion, and Evian Championship.)
Ryu's score was 11-under par on the par-71 Evian Resort Golf Club course. Ryu went into that third round three strokes off the lead. Following her 60, she took a three-stroke lead. She wound up winning the tournament in a playoff.
She had a shot at 59 when she reached the par-5 closing hole in two. But Ryu two-putted for birdie to record 60. That was one of nine birdies she made during the round, which also included an eagle. At the time of Ryu's 60, the 18-hole scoring record in men's majors was 62.

Two golfers on the list above recorded their remarkable scores during the final round. Leona Maguire's 61 in the 2021 Evian happened in the final round, bringing her from well back into a tie for sixth place. And Lydia Ko's 62 in the 2021 ANA Inspiration propelled her to a second-place finish. All of the golfers on the list finished in the Top 10 in their respective majors.
So Ryu scored the first 60 in any LPGA major and Kim the first 61. The first 62 was scored by Minea Blomqvist in the 2004 Women's British Open. That is the earliest score on the list above, and broke the record at the time for lowest score in an LPGA major. There had still, to that point, been only four scores of 63 in LPGA majors. (The first 63 was scored by Patty Sheehan in the 1984 LPGA Championship.)
