Big Break Mexico: Cast, Who Won, Watch Episodes

Big Break Mexico was a television series that aired on the Golf Channel in 2013. It was the 19th season of the network's The Big Break franchise. The first episode aired on May 13, 2013. The cast included six men and six women.

Big Break Mexico was taped at Playa Paraiso Golf Club in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Prizes for the winner included an exemption into the 2013 Lorena Ochoa Invitational on the LPGA Tour if the winner was a women; for a male champion, an exemption into the 2013 OHL Classic at Mayakoba.

The hosts were Tom Abbott and Stephanie Sparks. Lorena Ochoa made an appearance in one episode, and she attempted the signature Big Break glass break challenge. Ochoa broke the glass on her first attempt.

Winner of 'Big Break Mexico'

The champion of Big Break Mexico was Taylor Collins. She was the first woman to defeat a man in a Big Break championship match.

The 5-foot-1 Collins came up big in the championship match, beating Matthew Galloway, 2-up, in a match play match scheduled for 18 holes.

In addition to earning a spot in the field for the Lorena Ochoa Invitational, the victory garnered Collins $50,000 cash, plus another $55,000 worth of prizes from show sponsors including Dick's Sporting Goods, Avis, Travelocity, Adams Golf and Macanudo Cigars.

How Collins fared in her LPGA exemption: The Ochoa tournament was a no-cut tournament, so Collins got to play all four rounds. She finished last among the 35 golfers who started. Collins posted scores of 74, 77, 76 and 73 for a 12-over total of 300. Her paycheck was $7,250.
