The Arnold Palmer Drink in Videos and Recipes

Arnold Palmer is so famous there's a drink named after him. It's not a drink he invented, but it is a drink he famously enjoys and helped popularize. It's the Arnold Palmer "mocktail" (a mocktail is a mixed drink that does not include alcohol) that combines unsweetened ice tea with lemonade. But of course, you can easily turn the "mocktail" into a cocktail by adding liquor.

Arnie himself made his drink by combining about three parts tea with one part lemonade, but the popular version of the Arnold Palmer drink is to evenly split the components 50-50. Half tea, half lemonade.

And you can "fancy up" the basic recipe any number of ways. For example, in the ways we list on the following pages:

If you don't want to make your own, you can buy or order Arizona Arnold Palmer canned drinks or mixes of various flavors, made by the Arizona Iced Tea Company.

Want a little history of the Arnold Palmer beverage? There used to be an ESPN 30 for 30 short about the drink on YouTube. Alas, that video is now blocked by Disney and is only available on ESPN+. If you have that streaming service, it is worth looking up the short.

Here's an ABC News video with Palmer about the beverage:

Here's the ESPN SportsCenter commercial in which Arnie makes an Arnold Palmer his way:

And, one more, this is a clip from the television sitcom Scrubs that plays off the Arnold Palmer drink legacy:

But the Arnold Palmer name isn't limited just to beverages these days. Some chefs and home cooks have added the name to food items that incorporate the lemon-and-tea flavor base. For example, there is this Arnold Palmer Cake.
