Ping/Welch's Championship, Former LPGA Tournament

The Ping/Welch's Championship was a golf tournament on the LPGA Tour, played in the Boston area from 1980 through the late 1990s. Boston Five Classic was another of its well-known names.

Donna Caponi's final LPGA victory happened in this event in 1981. Something else that happened in that 1981 tournament: a player won a hole-in-one prize despite acing the wrong hole. The only multiple champion was Jane Geddes, who won consecutive titles in 1986-87.
