Braid seized the lead after Round 2 with a 72 to Gray's 79, and Gray afterward fell out of the picture. ... Braid, however, just kept going, leading by six following Round 3 and winning by eight. His final total of 291 lowered the previous scoring record of 296 set by Jack White in 1904.
