It was the third of Sarazen's three PGA Championship victories, and the sixth of his seven career wins in majors. ... To reach the final, Sarazen defeated Vincent Eldred, Harry Cooper, Ed Dudley and Johnny Farrell. ... This was the first major played in Wisconsin. Another major didn't visit the state until the PGA returned in 2004.
