European Tour Rookie of the Year Award Winners

This is the list of the European Tour's Rookie of the Year award recipients. The award was first given out in 1960, which predates the founding of the European Tour, but the tour does recognize those awards given out prior to 1972.

The official name of the award is the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award. Henry Cotton (1907-1987) is the British golfer who won the Open Championship three times and is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame.

The European Tour Rookie of the Year award winner is determined by a panel vote that include representatives of European Tour, The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, and the Association of Golf Writers. It was originally handed out by Cotton himself, which explains why this award pre-dates the establishment of the European Tour. When the tour formed in the early 1970s, it continued Cotton's award.
